A new publication from the BUILD_ME team entitled Calculate. Invest. Save. A Guide to the Building Energy Performance Tool for the MENA Region is now available to download.

The brochure "Calculate. Invest. Save." is directed at banks in the MENA region that are involved in the allocation of financial resources for investments in the context of energy efficiency projects in the building sector. In an overview, the basic features of a climate-friendly building sector are discussed followed by a best-practice example for the use of the Building Energy Performance Tool (BEP Tool) is presented. It shows how the BEP Tool can contribute to a simple, transparent and efficient application for financing of efficiency measures in new buildings. Three practical examples demonstrate how and where the BEP Tool has already been used and could facilitate access to financing. Finally, it is shown which financing options are available for efficiency measures in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon and which developments are expected of the BEP Tool in the future.
